What if each drum in your drum set was engineered as an instrument unto itself? Each tom designed to respond perfectly within the confines of its respective frequency without compromise over any other area of your kit. This is the mission behind Reference Series. A complete set of individually engineered, incredible sounding drums.Reference Series drums use a combination of task specific bearing edges and 3 time proven woods, Birch, Maple, and African Mahogany. Using Maple as a sole material has long been the traditional choice for shells and for good reason. Maple provides smooth, well balanced tone that is perfect for a 12" tom. Subsequently, all Reference Series 12" toms are composed of 6 plies of Maple. The only single wood shell in the series. Our 10" and 8" toms receive 4 plies of Maple with 2 inner plies of Birch for cut and attack. And for maximum response, all 13" and smaller toms have a rounded 45° bearing edge.

MASTERS CUSTOM The new Masters Custom MCX features the same 6 ply Maple shells, lugs and MasterCast Die-Cast Hoops as its big-brother MRP Masters Premium but with two high gloss lacquer finishes and three vintage wrapped finishes with chrome drum hardware, "standard" Masters OptiMount, spurs, and floor tom bracket/legs, and steel tension rods. Five shell packs are available with a very affordable price. All shells are constructed using our exclusive SST Superior Shell Technology manufacturing process. Our goal is to create the best sounding drums and SST assures that all shells are perfect acoustic chambers for amazing sound. |

The Export series has led the way and set the example of how drum sets are bought and sold in the industry and has evolved into the strongest series ever produced by a drum company. Without loosing stride, Pearl has taken this series and given it a serious facelift with even more pro-level improvements.

VISION SERIES Pearl’s 60 years of acoustic research has proven that the interior plies of the shell are the key influence to the overall sonic characteristic of the drum. Vision Series exploits this knowlege to the fullest by using two unique shell recipes of Birch and Basswood. Birch offers a resilent tightly bound network of cells that tend to accelerate rebounding sound waves making it perfect where mid to high frequencies are desired. Basswood provides a slightly softer cellulouse composition which tends to slow the sound waves thus promoting mid to low frequency response. By adjusting the overall balance of one ingredient to the other allows a fine tuning of frequency response much like our Reference Series. |
