Tech Tip Tuesday #4 - March 11th with Jim Chaffin

On Tuesday March 11th, we posted our fourth installment of Tech Tip Tuesdays with our drum instructor and gigging drummer Jim Chaffin!

Jim began playing at the age of 12. In high school, him and some friends formed the influential Christian punk/thrash group 'The Crucified.'

Jim has extensive recording and live performance experience since the early 90's with groups such as The Blamed, Left Out, Final Threat, Uthanda, Fasedown, Deliverance, Once Dead, Living Sacrifice, Mortal, The Prayer Chain, Grave Robber, and Michael Knott.

He currently plays with local cover groups Sarge Loda and Hired Gun; as well as in his church's worship band. Punk, Metal, Thrash, Rock, Worship or Country, Jim has played it and lived it.

Jim proudly plays DW Drums & Hardware, Zildjian Cymbals, Remo Drumheads & Vic Firth Drumsticks

For this Tech Tip Tuesday, Jim shared the importance of taking care of your hearing not only as a drummer/gigging drummer but as a human being. Once your hearing ability is gone, it's gone and you can't get it back without hearing aids or assistance. Take care of your hearing now before it's too late by using in-ear monitors or sound dampening ear buds which we have available in the shop!
