Tech Tip Tuesday #2 - February 18th with Joey Delgado
On Tuesday February 18th, we posted our second installment of Tech Tip Tuesdays with our employee, drum instructor and local gigging drummer Joey Delgado!
Joey performed on drum set in the Field Shows and Indoor Percussion in high school which taught him how to read and play in time reliably. He then attended Fresno State to get a Jazz Studies Degree playing with jazz ensembles big and small, and studied with renowned jazz drummers Jaz Sawyer and Mark Ferber. Outside of school, he has played with many different bands of many styles. He currently plays in his punk rock band I Figured it was Fiction and revolving jazz outfits with his jazz colleagues!
For this Tech Tip Tuesday, Joey shared the importance of taking EXTRA drum tuning keys! Everyone knows that once you drop your drum key, it gets lost in the abyss and is difficult to try to find especially at a gig, so it never hurts to have an extra!
If you're playing with other bands and swapping out gear or the other bands' drummers' need to 'borrow' your drum key, you never know when that drum key will 'suddenly' go missing. BUT you went prepared with a spare!
