This class is designed to help young 6th grade -12th grade beginner/intermediate marching percussionists around the valley develop their skills for all central valley band programs!

This is a non-competitive community group; there is no experience needed! If you're interested, PLEASE READ THE OVERVIEW/GUIDELINES BELOW and fill out the form!

Don't Forget to pick up a Drum Pad, Sticks, & Stand down below!

Overview

  1. $25 per session or $50 monthly Payment will be made directly to Roman Rivera. Cash, Check, Cash-app, Venmo, and PayPal accepted (@romanplaysdrums) Please type/write "Saturday A.M. Drumline" as the order.
  2. EVERYONE from all high schools // middle schools from around the valley are invited to participate. Bring a friend!
  3. BRING YOUR FAVORITE PAD, STAND, & STICKS! 5 snare pads and 2 quad pads will be provided. (Bringing your own is HIGHLY recommended) We will take up to 25 students per class with students rotating on and off if needed to make sure everyone gets a fair chance to play. There will be no drumming on marching drums due to the drum shop being in a neighborhood. 
  4. FILL OUT & PAY to reserve your spots! These spots will fill up fast!
GUIDELINES
  1. Be respectful of the equipment, facility, instructors, and other drummers and their styles of playing from around the valley. 
  2. Dress appropriate for the weather, bring water, and a binder with page protectors. 
  3. Print out materials sent to you. Music will be sent to you after filling out this form. It is your responsibility to print materials.
  4. Wear the name tag.
  5. Be willing to move around and take turns on the drums/pads.
  6. Listen to others around you.
INSTRUCTORS

About RomanRoman Rivera is a Fresno State graduate who directs We Got the Beat YPB, Beyond the Beat YPB, and teaches privately at Bentley's. Since 2015, Roman has been on tours with Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets and local bands in town. Some notable awards include 1st place SJVCGPR snare soloists (2016), 3rd place PAS marimba soloist (2022), and DCI Open Class / Percussion Champion (2015).

Currently on a record label and releasing music under the alias @romanxaround, they enjoy their time teaching and mentoring students, making music in their garage, and going on hikes with their little family.

 

About MilesMiles did Marching and Concert percussion through middle and high school at Clovis East High. Won two SJVCGPR 1st place Solo Awards and SJVCGPR Champion 2017.   Also jazz ensemble and Jazz combos from middle school to Fresno City College. During his progression, he's been a part of many musical acts including; Monsanto (Latin/funk) TOMA! (Latin/funk) Perception (Metalcore) Farooq (Hardcore) A Better Way (Pop Punk) Cornerstone Church (contemporary worship) and Selma Arts (Musical Theater). Playing everything and excelling at all styles is what Miles strives for.
