The Classic Model 2N series came about as the result of a few ideas, but mostly as a personal challenge to Ronn's skill as a drum designer - to build a drum using the beaded / flanged architecture that he preferred more than his Ludwig 400 Supraphonic. Mission accomplished!
The range of 2N models offers a modern, updated and much more robust version of the snare drum made famous by drummers like John Bonham. With a choice of higher or lower fundamental pitch provided by the different shell materials and designs one can truly dial in a particular sound, but get even more sonic diversity than available with vintage or even modern offerings (which have become impoor imitations of themselves).
